We wanted to share the news !!!

Rachel Kowalski has returned from the Centre of Excellence trials in Montreal !  Having a spectacular showing at the trials Rachel has received the call from Synchro Canada seeking her confirmation to join the team! Canada will unveil next week, after the medical screening tests are complete, the names of the 2010-2011 Synchro Canada Centre of Excellence Athlete Pool members following the 2010 Centre of Excellence Selection Camp held September 24-25.  Rachel will return to Montreal on Oct 3rd for her assessment and evaluation with Canada’s experts. Rachel will be home for the Thanksgiving weekend and will be busy packing to prepare for her move to Montreal. We’ll keep you posted!

Canadian Open Championships in PEI!

Congratulations to all athletes and coaches who participated at the Canadian Open Championships and National Team Trials this past weekend in Charlottetown. Ontario saw golden performance in Junior and Senior duet with Rachel Kowalski and Rebecca Maule of the Granite Synchro Club captured gold in the Junior Duet event. Kowalski and Maule went on to claim positions on the National Junior Team for the second consecutive year. They will represent Canada at the 2010 FINA World Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, August 11-15.   Congratulations Rachel!! Results for Rachel were: Figures – Bronze Duet – Gold – Routine score 87.000 championship score 80.203 Team – Silver – Routine score 85.167  championship score 77.731 National Jr Team Trials – Rachel was successful in being named to the Canadian Jr. National Team
