On Feb. 19, four KW Synchro athletes successfully completed Phase One in the 11 to 12-year-old Provincial Team Try-out process, held during the Provincial Championships at the Etobicoke Olympium Pool.
In their first test in the effort to secure a 2010 Team Ontario berth the swimmers performed a set of figures, and Jordan earned an impressive second-place ranking with a score of 60.4167. A member of the 11 to 12-year-old Ontario “A” Team in 2009, Jordan also had an opportunity to perform her solo at the Provincial Championships, preswimming before the Tier 6 Solo events. As a pre-swimmer, Jordan was not ranked among the Tier 6 competitors, but did receive scores and feedback from the judging panel, earning personal bests after both swims.
Congratulations Jordan!
In her first Provincial Team Try-out, Alexis delivered an outstanding fourteenth place result, scoring 55.0000. Way to go Alexis!
A member of the 10 and under Team Ontario Training Squad in 2009, Robin Le placed a strong twenty-first in the 11 to 12-year-old event, with a score of 54.0833.
Congratulations Robin Le!
Also making her first appearance at the Provincial Team Try-Outs was Amy, who was an impressive thirty-first. Amy’s score of 51.5833 was an outstanding result for a first year competitive swimmer. Way to go Amy!
After their success in Phase One, the swimmers will now move on to the second phase of the try-out process, which takes place May 15 to 16 at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford.
