Beginning inside City Hall Kitchener, Rachel Kowalski, a current member of KW Synchro’s Coaching Team participated as one of two future local Olympic athletes, together with past and current Olympic athletes who did a meet and greet with the public. There were lots of introductions and photos! Later, the athletes moved outside to a reserved section in front of the stage where thousands of people gathered, cheered and awaited the arrival of the Olympic torch.
The Kowalski family, celebrating with their daughter were beaming with pride when they shared their experience, “The ceremonies at the City of Kitchener is one we will never forget. When we see the Olympic Torch in Vancouver being lit, it will be with great Canadian pride that we will have shared, even a small portion, of the journey!”
