Burning Bright for Breast Cancer
For the 6th year, members of KW Synchro in association with Synchro Ontario have joined in the fight against Breast Cancer in the annual “Burning Bright for Breast Cancer” initiative. Each October KW Synchro distributes pledge forms to its members, who then have the opportunity to raise funds for the cause and be involved in keeping a pink torch aloft from the water for one hour during our event. All members of KW Synchro and their families were invited to attend on Sunday, Oct. 18th for this year’s edition of fun!
Swimmers began their afternoon with some ‘KWSS Club Spirit’ building and a pink Breast Cancer awareness themed reception before they took to the the pool. During the pre-event reception, swimmers and their families also had the opportunity to listen to KWSSC’s Program Leader, Melinda speak about Gail Reynolds, a Past President & long time volunteer for KW Synchro Club who passed away from Breast Cancer Christmas 2008. “Gail loved watching her daughters swim, and enjoyed her time with KW…” Poss said in her address to the swimmers and their families, “She would have loved to have been here today to see how much our club has grown and witness your enthusiasm for herself.
KW Synchro would like to thank all its countless Club Volunteers and Coaching Team for their help and endless energy! Without your help successful events like this would not be possible!
